Enjoy several hours discovering Lisbon. Take a drive down Liberty Avenue, arriving at the Rossio in the heart of the city. We’ll take a short walk in Alfama, the oldest and most picturesque quarter of this romantic city. Then don´t miss your appointment for a special wine tasting at a local handicraft store. Our drive continues leisurely along the riverside as we admire the Praça do Comércio and the Tagus bridge which we will cross if possible.
Arriving in the Discoveries Quarter, we will stop at the Torre de Belém and the Discoveries Monument, built in commemoration of D. Henrique o Navegante. We’ll visit the church at the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos, a masterpiece of Manueline Style and the Coach Museum, housing the world’s largest collection (On Mondays both are sites are closed, replaced by a visit to The Ajuda Palace or “Fundação Medeiros e Almeida”). Then we’ll break for lunch on your own.
Leaving Lisbon, we’ll head north to the city of Fátima. At our first stop we’ll visit the Sanctuary of Fatima where the tombstones of Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco lie. We’ll also visit the Chapel of Apparitions, the heart of the shrine. Everyone will have a chance to attend mass. Then, to better understand the life of the 3 little pastors, we will visit the house where they were born.
We will continue our tour in Valinhos to visit of the place where Our Lady of Fátima appeared for the 4th time on August 19th of 1917.
Finally, we will visit Loca do Anjo to see the place where the children, Francisco, Jacinta and Lucia, were visited on the first and third visits of the Angel in 1916.
