Perhaps the most impressive temple in the whole of Egypt, the colossal temple of Abu Simbel was cut into solid rock and simply has to be seen to be believed. The colossal Temple of Abu Simbel was built by Ramses II (XIXth. Dynasty). The temples were built out of a sandstone rock cliff, and representation of the deities to which each was dedicated are carved on its huge façade. Nearby, also saved, lies the small Temple of the King's wife Nefertari, dedicated to the goddess Hathor.
The tour takes 4 hour then return to Aswan. The flight takes approximately 35 minutes.
In most temples and museums in Egypt, an additional fee for photo and video cameras is requested. In general you can expect approximately 5 - 10 Egyptian Pounds for photo cameras, and approximately 100 Egyptian Pounds for video cameras.
