Dance celebrities Julian Clary, Jill Halfpenny, Gethin Jones and Kenny Logan join Strictly Come Dancing – The Live Tour 2009!!

Following on from the hugely successful sell out 2008 live tour, shows for 2009 are now on sale!

Jodie Kidd and Rachel Stevens will be dancing their way around the country in 2009 when STRICTLY COME DANCING - THE LIVE TOUR! takes to the road next January. Jodie and Rachel will join fellow dancing celebrities from the current BBC1 series, Cherie Lunghi and Tom Chambers, along with past favourites Gethin Jones, Jill Halfpenny, Julian Clary and Kenny Logan for the UK tour, where audiences will get the chance to watch their favourite celebrities, dance champions and those all important TV judges.

Series Two champion Jill Halfpenny, comic Julian Clary, last year’s smooth mover, Gethin Jones and rugby star Kenny Logan today announce that they are the first celebrities who will join STRICTLY COME DANCING - THE LIVE TOUR!. Audiences across the country will once again get the chance to watch a host of their favourite celebrities, dance champions and those all important TV judges, when STRICTLY COME DANCING - THE LIVE TOUR! hits UK Arenas next January and February.

Following this year’s massive sell-out UK tour, STRICTLY COME DANCING - THE LIVE TOUR! 2009 will see stars from the hit TV show past and present gather their gowns and dance shoes, to once again become dance contestants, competing for the votes of the audiences in Arenas across the Country.

The 2009 tour will see the celebrities face their dance demons in the form of all four TV judges - Len Goodman, Arlene Phillips, Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli – joining each show to voice their professional opinions of the dancing duos.

The format of the show (tbc) ....There will be two 45 minute sections with a 20 min interval in-between. First half celebs dance. Then the audience text to choose their winner.
Second half is group dancing and some professionals doing their thing! Then at the end the winner is announced

The five-week dance spectacular will also travel to Liverpool’s Echo Arena, Manchester’s MEN Arena, Nottingham Arena, Sheffield Arena, London’s Wembley Arena, London’s O2 Arena, SECC in Glasgow and Birmingham LG Arena.

Directions:
Clyde Auditorium is situated within the SECC complex, a short distance from Glasgow city centre on the A814 Stobcross St/Finnieston St

By Road: SECC is just off Junction 19 of the M8 motorway,onto A814.

Parking: On-site parking is available for 3,000 vehicles at £3.50 per day.

Nearest Rail: Glasgow's Central Station is connected with every city in the UK, while Queen Street Station serves central and northern Scotland.

Once you're in Glasgow, your journey right to the SECC front door can be completed by train. Exhibition Centre station is SECC's own dedicated railway station allowing easy access from the city centre and the suburbs. Six trains an hour from Central Station (Platform 15) will bring you to the venue in under 10 minutes.

Coach: All UK coach operators run services to Glasgow's Buchanan Bus Station from throughout the UK.

By Bus: There is a ‘Gig ‘n Go’ bus service 707 which runs from Buchanan Bus Station departing from 1 hour before the event start time & returning after the show. The service does not run for all events – please check www.firstgroup.com/ukbus/scotland/swscot/special_services/?item=140&show=1 for availability Bus service 3 & 35 operate from the City Centre to the SECC complex & back – via the Clyde Arc bridge, running four services per hour.

Taxi: There are taxi ranks throughout the city. Main pick-up points include Buchanan Bus Station, Queen Street and Central Stations and most large hotels.
An average journey from the city centre will cost around £5.00.

Air: Glasgow's international Airport is less than 15 minutes drive by direct motorway link from the city centre.
