Ariadne auf Naxos is an opera in one act, with prologue, by Richard Strauss, with libretto by Hugo von Hofmannsthal. Its prologue was composed between 1911 and 1912 and the second version of the work between May and June 1916. The revised version premiered at the Hofoper in Vienna on 4 October 1916.
