Giselle is a Romantic ballet in two acts by Adam (with additions by Friedrich Burgmüller and Léon Minkus) and libretto by Théophile Gautier and Jules-Henri Vernoy de Saint-Georges. Giselle was premiered by the Ballet of the Académie Royale de Musique (today known as the Paris Opera Ballet) on 28 June 1841 and is one of the few ballets of that era which has survived.
