IMAX Theatre & Swiss Transport Museum
Swiss Museum of Transport
Switzerland
Tue, 7th October 2008 - Tue, 31st March 2009
IMAX takes viewers on a 40-minute tour of new words, enlarging the minute and showing the large at full size taking the film experience to a new level. IMAX uses a huge screen and a special film format (the film itself is twice as broad as normal cinema film) to present razor-sharp images and 22,000-watt sound, combining these technical features with topics such as nature, science and technology. Of course, a key ingredient is fun, creating the most spectacular cinema experience since the invention of the moving image!
The past, present and future of transport and mobility on land, sea and in the air; the principles of (tele-) communication – these are the main themes of the Swiss Museum of Transport. More than 3,000 displays covering approximately 20,000 m2 testify to a (literally) moving history and herald future challenges in transport and communication.
There's always something on at the Museum of Transport. Events, meetings, special presentations, new IMAX films or even special exhibitions at the Museum of Transport, the IMAX Theatre, the Hans Erni Museum and the Planetarium.
