En route to Vatican City, the coach will take you by some of the city's most famous sites. Beginning with Piazza della Republica with its Naiad Fountain, you will then proceed to the beautiful Piazza Barberini, home to Bernini's lovely Baroque Tritone Fountain. Your coach will then drive down famous Via Veneto along the ancient Aurelian Walls, also passing the impressive Villa Borghese.
Next pass through Piazza del Popolo, the northern entrance into ancient Rome with its Egyptian obelisk that dates back to the time of Ramses II. Just before arriving at St Peter's square you will drive by the massive Castle S. Angelo, the ancient tomb of Emperor Hadrian.
The Papal Audience will take place in St Peter's Square, or in St. Peter's Basilica or in the Audience Hall- according to seasonal conditions and the number of pilgrims involved. Your local guide will advise you when and where to meet the bus at the end of the audience.
