Reykjanes Penninsula and Gulfoss and Geysir Express
Gray Line Iceland
Reykjavik
Iceland
Sun, 7th September 2008 - Mon, 15th September 2008
We’ll head out for the Reykjanes Peninsula where the Atlantic Ridge rises above the ocean. We’ll see the lighthouse on the westernmost tip of the peninsula, a magnificent area rich in bird life. You’ll hear the surf crashing at the beautiful basaltic cliffs. It’s simply magical! After a short stop by the Blue Lagoon, we continue to Reykjavík and from there to the Golden Circle Express tour. We’ll begin by visiting Þingvellir, a geologically unique place where the American and the Eurasian tectonic plates meet. We’ll continue on, viewing the majestic and beautiful Gullfoss Waterfall, the incredible spouting hot spring of Geysir and Strokkur, and the colourful volcanic crater Kerið.
Next, we’ll visit Hveragerði with its large greenhouses before traveling over a mountain, heading back to the capital. We reserve the right to alter or change the itinerary according to weather and road conditions.
