We’ll head out to the south, through the widest cork region in the world on an exciting journey into the past, formerly Portugal’s barn. On ancient Pax-Julia, capital of Alentejo we’ll visit the old ruins of the Roman Temple, built in Estremoz marble, the Romanesque Gothic Cathedral with its massive towers from the 16th century, the Bones Chapel and the University that occupies the former building of the Jesuit University.
A walk along these pleasant “white streets” will help you appreciate the typical sights of this city, formerly a city of kings, artists and humanitarians, who with the “help” of Geraldo Sempavor created this monument of World Heritage.
