This short safari goes to the animal wonderland of the Masai Mara Game Reserve in south western Kenya, which is trampled by thousands of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle in the spectacular annual migration, and is home to the big five: lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo. The reserve is shared with the proud and elegant looking Masai; the semi nomadic people whose culture and ways have changed little over the centuries. Days are spent on rewarding game drives, whilst nights are spent around the campfire at our tented camp.

DAY 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara (Dinner included)
Leaving the hustle and bustle of Nairobi we climb the escarpment to our first stop, a viewpoint overlooking the spectacular Great Rift Valley. Descending into the Rift Valley, we enter Masai land where these habitual pastoralists are often seen tending their cattle from the side of the road. We pass through the town of Narok, before arriving at our campsite, in time to enjoy sunset over the Masai Mara.

DAY 2: Masai Mara (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included)
We spend the day driving through nature as it was intended to be - huge plains, rolling hills and an abundance of game matched no where else on earth. We keep an eye open for the Big 5 - elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion & leopard. If travelling between July and October, we may get to witness the impressive herds of over 1 million wildebeest, zebra and Thomsons Gazelles in their Annual Migration. Sitting around the camp fire, watching the sun set is the perfect way to finish a days game viewing in this Garden of Eden.

DAY 3: Masai Mara to Nairobi (Breakfast included)
We travel north through the Masai Mara looking for the game that has eluded us. After our game drive, we leave the Mara to reach Nairobi in the late afternoon. Here well part ways after having had a brief encounter with amazing Africa.

From the Airport are available at an extra cost of US$20 per person upon booking. Upon booking, you will be offered transfers via e-mail confirmation.

Customers can arrange pre-accommodation with the supplier post booking. The day the tour starts is the day it leaves Nairobi so customers need to book a pre nights accommodation.

Taxi between Boulevard and Comfort Inn is approximately US$10 per person per way.

LOCATIONS

The Comfort Inn is located about 10 minutes walk from the Boulevard Hotel and is centrally located near to shops - a taxi fare would be about US$ 3 - 5 per way.

OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES

These are activities, which are available for you to do along the way on the tour, but are not compulsory. This tour offers an optional activity of a Masai Village Cultural Visit at an approximate cost of US$5.00. This is why we have not included them in the tour cost. The Optional activities must be booked & paid for along the way and suggested form of payment is US$ cash. Sometimes you can pay by Travelers Cheques or Credit card, however the surcharges, particularly in East Africa can be very high, sometimes up to 14% for Credit Card!

Booking Information

Bring your ticket along with your Africa Travel Co. Confirmation Voucher on your trip. Please call ATC on 00 27 21 385 1530 if you wish to arrange transfers and pre-accommodation. Please ensure to arrive for check in by 8.45am at The Boulevard Hotel, Nairobi.

IMPORTANT: Local Payment: US$160. Please note that a Local payment of US$160 is to be paid to your Tour Leader at the Pre departure meeting, so you don't have to carry it with you and worry about it. Therefore they require Local payment to be paid in US$ cash only.The Local Payment forms part of your total trip cost and is used to make payments by your Tour Leader whilst on tour - covering items like Fresh Products, camp fees and Park Entrance fees.

Passengers over 60 years are required to bring a medical certificate. Group size can range from a minimum of 2 passengers to a maximum of 29 passengers.
