Visit the most important archaeological zone in the Yucatan the ancient capital of the Mayan Empire. See its extraordinary architectural beauty and its geographical location, founded in the year 514. You can admire the majestic Observatory, the Sacred Cenote where sacrifices took place, the Ball Court, the largest Ball Game in Mesoamerica. It is 168 meters in length and 70 meters in width with perfect acoustics or climb the Castle.

You may also see the Pyramid of Kukulcan, where both theology and astronomy combine to produce a unique spectacle twice a year, the Spring Equinox and the Autumn Solstice, days when the shadows projected over the architectonic elements of the building resemble a serpent descending to the ground.

ITINERARY

Our excursion begins by picking up all the passengers. Hotel pick ups are between 9am and 9:30am. Please be ready in your hotel lobby at 9:00am. You will then check in at our terminal and depart at 10:00 am in a deluxe motor coach.

We’ll arrive to Mayaland Hotel around 2:00 PM to have a delicious buffet lunch** with typical Yucatan dishes as well as poultry, hamburgers and salad bar while watching regional people dancing to folkloric music.

** Drinks and tips are not included

Afterwards, we will be ready to enter into the archaeological site by the private entrance of the Mayaland Hotel. Once inside, we will divide into English and Spanish speaking groups and take an hour and a half guided tour with a certified guide that will talk to us about the history and secrets of the Mayans and will point out the most important places. Then we’ll enjoy free time to walk around, climb El Castillo or take some pictures as well as use all the Mayaland facilities such as the swimming pool, lounge chairs, sun beds, towels and 2 for 1 in the evenings at the bar.

Then we will get together again to see the Light and Sound show that begins at 8:00 pm in spring and summer and 7:00 pm in autumn & winter where you can listen** and admire a projected light shadow over the architectonic elements of the building that resemble a serpent descending to the ground (equinox show), Mayan warriors playing the ball game and the sound of death and life. This is an exciting show full of history, light effects and awesome ancestry.

**Translators are not included but can be rented at the entrance

We are the only company that takes you first to the buffet and then to the archaeological site. Why? Because this way you can enjoy a fresh and hot meal without crowds or long lines.
