Over the centuries, Provence was the chosen home of many, including the Romans, Popes, and many artists and now, living here is quite fashionable. Today, thanks to the TGV Mediterranee, the fastest train in the world, discover this delightful region, the brightness of its light, the vividness of its colors and the charms of its traditions.Transfer from the Gray Line Paris terminal 2 rue des Pyramides 75001 Paris to the Gare de Lyon. Board the TGV train departing at around 7:00 AM*. Admire the various landscapes of Burgundy and Rhone Valley.
After covering 700 km (440 miles), arrive Avignon at 10:30 AM* to first visit the Popes Palace (entrance and audio-guide included).
With our guide, drive on to Saint-Remy de Provence and the Roman ruins of Glanum (photo stop). Guided tour ot the perched village of “Les Baux”. Free time for shopping of local products (perfumes, lavender, Provencal fabrics). Cross the Rhone river between Tarascon and Beaucaire to reach in a well kept natural site, the “Pont du Gard” famous riman aqueduct dating back to the 1st century (guided visit and free time).
Transfer back to the Aivignon TGV station to catch the train at around 8:00pm and arrive at Paris Gare de Lyon at around 10.45pm. End of the services.
