Welcome to Cordoba, Spain. Cordoba is one of the most interesting cities in Andalusia (South of Spain). During the Arab domination (711 - 1263) Cordoba was the artistic and cultural center of the "Al-Andalus" empire, and was the capital of the western Caliphate. The Islamic, Jewish and Catholic Civilizations left their fingerprints in this Andalusian City.
See the famous Mosque. The "Mezquita de Cordoba" was begun in 784 by Abd of San Vicente. In the 10th Century, after several extensions, it became the largest mosque in the world.
Walk inside the "Patio de Los Naranjos" (Orange Trees courtyard). Bishop Martin Fernandez de Angulo (16th Century) entrusted Hernan Ruiz with the remodeling of the original work of Abd al-Rahman III.
Crossing the main entrance door, you get to this courtyar, where you can see Palm Trees (planted in the 13th Century), Olive Trees and Cypresses (18th Century).
