There will be a unique chance to see the great and legendary guitarist,
Tony T. S.McPhee, with his band, the famous
Groundhogs in a club setting, when they play at The Eel Pie Club, Twickenham on Wednesday 28 May.
Tony McPhee is widely known as guitarist, singer and songwriter. He formed The Groundhogs in the early 1960’s, and they soon gained recognition through backing
John Lee Hooker on his British Tours.
Tony McPhee is undoubtedly one of the seminal figures in British blues, and the Groundhogs albums, particularly ‘Thank Christ For The Bomb’ and ‘Split’, are recognised as among the classic records of the late ‘60’s. This powerful trio has recently played at numerous prestigious events including the Isle Of Wight Blues Festival. Tony is one of the original Bluesmen and a True Guitar Hero who has played or toured with the 'greats' -

There is parking available the York House venue. Also pay parking at the Arragon Road multi-storey car park – 2 minutes walk from the venue, & at Church Street car park – 3 minutes from the venue
